What to Expect

It's truly a joy to serve the Lord Jesus in this growing area of Texas, and our church is eager to help you in any way we can. If you are new to this area, or if you do not have a church home, let's get acquainted soon.

At First Baptist Church you will find a warm and friendly, welcoming congregation of ordinary people who have met an extraordinary Savior in the person of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to see people come to Christ as Savior and then become more and more like Him as we learn to love God, love people, and serve both. Our worship services consist of a blend of timeless gospel hymns and songs of praise, followed by preaching and teaching from the Bible that has practical applications for our daily lives. Our people generally dress casually and comfortably.

Our Sunday services begin with a graded Bible study for all ages at 9:30 AM. The worship service begins at 10:45 AM. Our facilities are located at 1200 4th Street across the street from Blanco High School. Office hours are generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Please feel free to call for more information at 830-833-4632.

Mission Statement

At the core of everything we do at FBC is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the subject of our worship and the object of our praise. Our doors are open to all who love and serve our Lord as well as to those who are seeking to know Him. Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). The Mission of First Baptist Church of Blanco therefore is to make disciples who will love God, love people, and demonstrate this love by serving both. The Confession of Faith held by FBC is "The Baptist Faith and Message" as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention.

Our Affiliation

Our church has voluntarily chosen to affiliate with three larger groups of Baptist believers:
  • On a local level, we fellowship with over 70 other Baptist churches and missions who call themselves the Bluebonnet Baptist Association (formerly San Marcos Baptist Association). The association office is located in New Braunfels.
  • On a state level, we identify ourselves with over 5,000 other Baptist churches that form the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.
  • On a national level, we participate in national and international missionary efforts with over 40,000 other Baptist churches who choose to be a part of the Southern Baptist Convention. With over 16,000,000 members, the SBC is America’s largest protestant denomination.
