Sunday School

There are 4 adult classes. One is for ladies and is taught by Marian Milks. This is a close knit, very caring group of women concerned with serious Bible study. The class with older couples is called Bible Seekers and is taught by Bill Ferrell. Steve Dunks teaches the Adventurers Class for middle aged and older adults. The BOB (Bring Our Bible) class is for mostly but not exclusively younger adults with children. It is taught/led by Chris Champion and Doug Pautz.

First Baptist Church loves children, and because we do, we offer several ministries and activities designed to attract children so that they might also learn about the love and grace of God, and at the right time, each personally receive the Lord Jesus as their Savior.

Beginning in the preschool, from the nursery through four years, and in the children's division from Kindergarten through 6th grades, opportunities are offered during the Sunday School hour on Sundays. Qualified and loving adults are here to care for and teach your children.

The youth ministry is committed to the spiritual growth of students through Bible study, discipleship, worship and fellowship. It is our desire to help students grow beyond the milk of God's word to the meat so that they can become all that God desires for them to be. As they discover how God has gifted each one of them, we want to help them find places of ministry to use the gifts and talents that God has given them.

Worshippers of all ages make a joyful noise to the Lord here at FBC. The adult choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00. Music reading abilities are not necessary, but appreciated. All that's required is a heart for worship. Youth are encouraged to sing with this group as we rehearse praise and worship music as well as more traditional choral music.

Community English Classes

Community English Classes, an outreach of First Baptist Church, is an adult literacy program for English language learners in the Blanco community. Our goal is to provide support and instruction in English while intentionally demonstrating and sharing God’s love.

To minister to the needs of the whole family and to increase consistent attendance, we also provide supper and a Bible-based study, crafts and music for the children through sixth grade. The children eat with their teachers, allowing the adult students social time with their teachers and classmates during supper.

Registration is held in September, and the class schedule is closely aligned with the public school schedule. Each Monday evening chatter and laughter pervade the hallways from active, joyful learning experiences going on inside the classrooms.

The ministry’s success is made possible by a highly motivated staff of volunteers from both the church and community.

For further information you may contact the church office at 830-833-4632.

Other Ministries

The Quilting Fellowship assembles quilts to take to orphanages, shelters, etc. They also have a prayer time as part of their weekly get together.

The Men's Chuckwagon Bible Study, started in July 2013, meets off campus at the Buggy Barn Museum (building behind the museum) and enjoys a cowboy breakfast on Sunday before opening the Word. This is designed as an outreach to men not already in a Sunday School class and has been successful in reaching several.

Kidz Kamp is a summer outreach to children grades 3-6 in the community. It is a 3 day camp at the Franklin Family Ranch and brings in a guest preacher and musician as well as special speakers.

Baby Ministry is outreach to newborns’ mothers. Reba Neagle does this.

Mission Kids for ages 4 to grade 2 meets as a children’s church during the morning service.

Women's conference committee plans and executes a one day inspirational meeting for women from the community. Chairperson is Reba Neagle.

Pam Nollet is part of the Lunches of Love, a volunteer organization which delivers meals on the days Meals on Wheels does not function. Church volunteers deliver for Meals on Wheels 2 months a year.

Light Night is a community-wide Halloween alternative reaching 300-400 people.

Field of Faith and See You At the Pole are both community wide prayer efforts.
