Administrative Assistant / Church Secretary

HOURS: Sunday – Thursday (Salaried – 40 hours per week)
Weekend hours may also be required depending on
church programs and events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of three years of experience as an Administrative Assistant
• Strong computer skills are imperative (MS Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook,
QuickBooks Online)
• Proficiency in the use of standard office tools
• Strong organizational skills
• Have excellent command of English composition and punctuation

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Primary function is to oversee all activities of the main church office. This person would report directly to the Senior
Pastor

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Responsible for Church bookkeeping and payroll
• Maintenance and organization of reception area.
• Ability to work with SubSplash
• Ordering and maintenance of office supplies and equipment.
• Organization and maintenance of the church calendar
• Pick up, distribution and dissemination of all mail and correspondence.
• Screening and routing all incoming calls.
• Answer mail – correspondence (writing letters), phone calls, etc.
• Check email and respond.
• Coordinate scheduling for weddings and baptisms.
• Keep accurate membership records (new members, baptisms, weddings, deaths, etc.)
• Assisting Church Staff with enforcement of plans and procedures
• Coordinate with Security, House & Improvements, Transportation and other committees for their specific
needs.
• Completed other assigned duties as necessary
• Prepare and maintain an Office Procedures, Personnel files and Reference Manual.

• Should possess strong administrative skills and the ability to work independently without supervision.
