Donnie and Carla met at FBC Pasadena, TX while in high school.  After college, they were married in 1973 and began teaching Sunday School classes of children, youth, college, young adults and median adults.  They worked in the bus ministry, sang in choir and he led RA’s.  He was ordained in FBC in 1974 and served as deacon in FBC and South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena.  After Carla retired from teaching high school and kindergarten and Donnie retired from mechanical engineering in the petrochemical industry, they moved to Blanco in 2011.  They joined FBC Blanco in 2024.  They are leading two Life Groups and serve in CEC classes.  Carla is serving on the Local Missions Committee.  They have two grown daughters and three grandsons.
