Operation Christmas Child Mission
“Let the children come to Me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.
Since 1993, more than 244 million children in more than 175 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.
FBC Blanco has participated in collecting shoeboxes for over 20 years. Four years ago, we became a drop-off location for Blanco County. Up until 2024, our highest number of shoeboxes turned in never exceeded 150. In 2023 we sent 114. In 2024 our goal was 300. We planned our first packing party and sent 477 boxes. In 2025 our goal was 600 and we sent nearly 700!
Ten to twelve people are impacted for Christ with each shoebox sent and received. For every five shoeboxes, a child is saved. It’s All About Jesus!
How can you be involved?
Pray for people to open their hearts to this ministry, for OCC volunteers and especially the children receiving the boxes as well as their families and communities.
Pay – Each box cost between $20-$30 to fill and ship. Consider a donation designated to OCC. Any amount helps!
Participate by attending workdays, shopping for toys and school supplies, knitting/crochet small animals, carve/turn wood cars, create 3-d printed toys, sew tote bags etc.…
Pack – Attend the packing party scheduled for Sunday, August 2 after the second service. (Noon – 2PM), take home boxes to pack and return in November
