Richard accepted Christ as his Savior as a child in Lufkin, TX.  Gail and Richard were married in 1976 at the beginning of his military career.  Richard had a 20 year career in the Marine Corps, flying the A-4 Skyhawk and then the AV-8B Harrier jet aircraft.  He then spent the next 29 years training naval jet flight students at NAS Kingsville, TX.
While Richard and family were stationed in Virginia Beach, VA, he was ordained as a deacon (1991) at Kempsville Baptist Church. A year later, after transferring to NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, Richard and family joined Second Baptist Church and he began serving in various ways- he worked in the nursery for 12 years, served numerous times on finance and personnel committees, served as a trustee, and served as a deacon until moving to Blanco in 2023.  

Gail and Richard have two daughters, one son-law, and two grandchildren - we looking forward to serving FBC Blanco and community.
